Happy Halloween!

 Happy Halloween everyone!
It was pretty cool to see my giant witch and clown head finished! Benny didn't think he would be able to wear the big clown head, so I made him a quick cardboard mask with sculpey details. It actually turned out creepy and didn't look too cheesy. I think we were heading to our second house when Antonio decided to rip off his clown nose! So Benny had no choice but to wear the giant clown head. Vince carried it(or wore it) until we got to someones door then Benny put it on. Everyone seemed to get a kick out of it!
I was going to make Antonio a bat, but nothing was coming out right and Antonio did NOT want anything to do with trying the costume on so I could adjust it. I got frustrated and gave up! I remembered Benny still had his swamp monster costume in the closet, so that is what Antonio wore. He looked super cute, but didn't want his picture taken.
Antonio loved the trick or treating part. He was a little trooper!

Plaster Heads are a pain in my A**!

Ok it's two days until Halloween and I have ZERO costumes for my kids! UGh!!!! The clown head which is now finished turned out to be way HEAVY for Benny to wear. So now I'm starting from scratch with a lame face mask made from cardboard and sculpey. Let's just see how that one turns out. HAH!
Antonio's costume is waiting on me getting my new sewing machine set up. I am making Antonio a Bat this year. I feel kinda bad that his costume won't be as cool as Benny's use to be. Having two kids seems to make things a lot harder and I'm much more tired!!!

I usually can't make anything scary. I do think the clown came out pretty good, but I guess that's because ALL clowns are creepy!!!

My Giant Witch Head

I decided to make a GIANT witch head for Halloween this year. First I started with a big punching Balloon and added strips of newspaper dipped in Plaster of Paris. After a few coats of that, I added the details by rolling newspaper into shapes and taping the crap out of them!
I added them with plaster and more newspaper over top. The Witch isn't as smooth as I would of liked, but I didn't have much time to work on my own costume. I still have TWO more costumes to make! I guess the roughness of the plaster works ok for the witch since her skin is probably all wrinkly and gross anyway!
